Sales Engineer

ServerCentral is seeking professional pre-sales technical support to the sales team. The Sales Engineer (SE) interacts with customers to explain the technical aspects of Server Central’s products and services. The SE helps qualify sales opportunities, resolves all technical issues arising during the sales engagement, helps customers define specifications and requirements, and provides technical presentations.

ServerCentral in Chicago, IL is seeking a Sales Engineer

Job Scope:
1. Primarily focused on targeted accounts, being a member of several account teams.
2. Attend qualified sales and vendor calls as needed.
3. Assist in the gathering of technical data to prepare and present proposals to prospects.
4. Maintain an updated knowledge of Server Central’s offerings, Server Central’s network, and future product offerings.
5. Manage and support customer provisioning as needed for all post-sale implementation.
6. Ensure correct technical content of all customer sales orders.

7. Assist in designing customer technical solutions with engineering diagrams.
8. Assist with technical responses and strategy for RFP's as a member of the account team.
9. Other tasks as needed, based on the duties and requirements of a Sales Engineer.

5. Able to manage multiple projects/opportunities simultaneously
6. Has good organizational and time management skills

Technical Skills:
1. Strong computer skills; UNIX,  MS Office including Project, Visio
2. Familiarity with Intel server hardware
3. TCP/IP networking, Ethernet (speeds, media), routing protocols and procedures used on large networks

Experience and Education:
1. 3-5 years in the ISP/Telecom industry or related field providing technical sales support
2. Professional qualification or a degree in a technical discipline
